compare and contrast

In both, short stories “The Fight” by Richard Wright and “The Confrontation” by Raymond Barrio, these authors express the emotions of the narrator/characters of how they cope with being mistreated and their reaction to their situations after just being messed with. These are cases that happen in the real world and many people react this way or a bite differently.

In the story by Richard Wright “The Fight”, describe the way a young man comes to a new neighborhood, and how others treated him differently just because they did not know him. Children have mistreated him by misjudging who he was and what he was or was not capable in doing. Until, later that first day of school they pushed his buttons. When they pushed his buttons he then reacted “tigerishly”. The narrator and his classmate got into a fight that was caused by the pushing crowd in order to make the two fight one another.

In the short story by Raymond Barrio "The Confrontation" shows the conflict between the narrator/ worker and the boss.The worker who picked apricots from trees in a large field felt locked in bars next to the rows of plantation. He felt that his boss Manuel was picking at him by taking his money. Not only that but also the worker's money, who worked in the field. This made him stand up for himself and made him a proud man of himself.

These authors had similar stories in which both characters in their stories where going through a rough situations. They both stood up strong, but hesitated in a way,but this did not stopped them from backing away at all. The difference between both, narrators where that in "The Fight" this dealt with a young kid who was trying to just fit in as he was suppose to rather than just not fitting in. In "The Confrontation" the differences from "The Fight"was that a middle aged worker tries fighting for his rights and argues with the boss for his injustice in the field and hard working hours. They both are differ and similar just because the confront and fight back for something valuable to themselves and /or for respect.
